We are an allied health specialist pioneered by a physiotherapist of 20 years in a rehabilitation setting, specializing in stroke rehabiliation.
Salawati specialised in neuro-rehabilitation for over 10 years dealing with stroke and brain injury patients. She graduated in 1999 from UK and started her career in physiotherapy at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore.
During her 9 years at Tan Tock Seng Hospital she had administered various skills which she picked up from specialized courses held locally and in the United States. Hence she is able to assess and treat various conditions using motor control techniques, NDT (Bobath), Functional Electrical Stimulation, balance and falls in elderly, vestibular rehabilitation, constrained-induced therapy and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. She assisted in developing carepaths like amputee carepath, gives talks and workshops in and outside of the hospital. Some of the topics in the talks and workshops include "The use of toes spreader in inhibiting toes spasticity in stroke patients" and "Casting workshop for Spasticity management".
She left Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2008 and started to work in the community providing home-based therapy services and was a locum physiotherapist at Institute of Mental Health, Bright Vision Hospital and NTUC elderly care from 2008 to 2010. In 2009 –2010, she did some teaching and training for the physiotherapists at Bright Vision Hospital. She helped to develop some checklists and audits to be used by the physiotherapist at Bright Vision Hospital in their daily operations.
In 2010 she founded Mobility Clinic Pte Ltd, with a vision to provide islandwide physiotherapy home-based services in Singapore. Leveraging on her extensive network in the healthcare industry in Singapore, she liased closely with the doctors from hospitals like National University Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and other allied health organisations to complement the needs of patients who require follow-up home-based therapy after they are discharged from the hospitals.
Other than therapy services at home, she provides advice on medical equipment, caregiver training and locum physiotherapy services to hospitals in Singapore. She aims to provide affordable and convenient therapy services for the family and patients in a natural homely environment for the patient.
We are also supported by a team of highly experienced senior physiotherapists who have a minimum of 10 years of hospital-based experience in both the acute and rehab settings in Singapore.
All our physiotherapists are registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC, http://www.ahpc.gov.sg).
They are highly specialized in either neurological, geriatrics or musculo-skeletal conditions and we will deploy them based on the individual patient's needs.
